About
About the Chapel of Light
The Chapel of Light is a virtual sacred space for prayer. We created this project to offer people all over the world the opportunity to light a candle, request a prayer, and join Sunday service streams at any time: from home, a hospital room, exile, or the front lines.
This is not a replacement for physical church prayer. It is a digital extension for anyone who finds it difficult to attend a local church. The tradition of lighting candles and submitting prayer intentions has existed for centuries; we simply make it accessible through the internet.
Mission
Our Mission
To make a prayer community accessible 24/7 to believers at home and in the diaspora. Especially for those experiencing war, loss, separation from family, or illness.
Every candle in our 3D chapel is visible to all visitors. Your prayer is never alone: candles from other believers burn alongside yours, part of a shared prayer in a digital sanctuary.
How it works
How the Chapel Works
- Candles: 78 slots in the 3D chapel. You choose a burn time (12, 24, or 48 hours), then enter a name and prayer intention.
- Payment: Via secure online card payment. Payments are processed automatically and usually take 1–2 minutes.
- Sunday Services: Live streams are hosted on Sundays. Names from prayer orders are read aloud by the priest during the service.
- Spiritual Library: Tabbed pages containing Psalms, prayers for soldiers, comfort verses, and hope stories.
Funds
Where the Funds Go
Offerings for candles and prayers cover:
- Technical infrastructure: Hosting, domain name, and payment processing fees.
- Ministry support: Assisting the clergy, musical recordings for services, and streaming equipment.
- Platform development: Adding new features, user support, and expanding the library.
Public financial reports are shared on our social channels quarterly.
Values
Our Values
- Accessibility: A sacred space for everyone, regardless of time or location.
- Transparency: Clear payment processes, funds allocation, and operating rules.
- Respect for Tradition: Following standard liturgical practice without inventing new rites.
- Ethical Design: No ads, no dark patterns, and no recurring subscription traps.
