Prayer
A Prayer for the Departed
Lord, remember your servant whose name we hold before you. Grant them rest where there is no pain or sorrow, but light, and peace, and the joy of your presence.
Comfort those who mourn, and keep the memory of the ones we love alive in our hearts. May their memory be eternal. Amen.

A Tradition of Prayerful Remembrance
Lighting a candle for the repose of the departed is a long-standing tradition of prayerful remembrance. Our virtual chapel allows you to light a candle at any moment: on a relative's anniversary, on the 9th or 40th day, on a memorial Saturday, or simply when you hold their memory close to your heart.
Your candle flame joins a shared prayer of believers worldwide. Other visitors can see the name and intention, and they add their quiet prayers. This is how we keep the tradition of shared remembrance in a digital sanctuary.

What to Read for the Repose of a Soul
When lighting a repose candle, it is traditional to say a prayer for the departed or read Psalm 23 (“The Lord is my shepherd”). Our spiritual library holds the text of these prayers and psalms to accompany your commemoration.
